5 Ways To Make Sure Your BBQ’s A Scorcher

There are plenty of things to love about summer – the weather, holidays, longer days – but my all-time favourite has got to be BBQ’s.

For me, nothing compares to sitting out the back with friends and family enjoying good food, weather and company.

Of course, if you’re the one hosting the BBQ you know that it’s not always as easy as it may seem – many things other than the food can go wrong.

Don’t worry, if you’ve planned your BBQ well you and your guests will have a blast.

1. Choose your BBQ wisely

Before taking to the grill, you’ll need to make sure you purchase a decent BBQ.

The most effect BBQ is a charcoal one – they give food that great barbecued taste that everyone knows and loves.

The only down fall for this kind of BBQ is that it can be a big tricky to light. Although there are a number of ways to do this, the easiest option is to use a charcoal chimney BBQ starter which will allow you to start your fire quick and safely.

2. Arm yourself with decent tools

The best way to make sure your BBQ runs smoothly is to ensure that you have all the accessories you could possibly need. There are a whole range of BBQ tools that will make everything so much easier for you behind the grill.

These range from tongs to sausage turners

3. Get creative

Everyone is familiar with the BBQ staples – burger, hot dogs, sausages, sweetcorn – but sometimes it’s good to mix things up a bit. Why don’t you make your BBQ stand out from our friends and grill something a bit different?

There are loads of vegetables that are ideal for grilling including aubergines, peppers and mushrooms.

Halloumi is also a nice alternative and goes perfectly with a burger!

For desert, grab a banana or berries and wrap them in tin foil and throw them on. This tastes great and you can even add chocolate and marshmallows (yum!)

Your guests will be talking about it for the rest of the summer.

4. Keep your drinks cool

A BBQ would be nothing without an ice cold drink.

It can be annoying though having to constantly run back to the kitchen to top your guests drinks up.

A simple solution to this is to grab a large bucket or basin and fill it with ice. If you’re short on ice then you could top it up with some cold water. Add your favourite drinks, bring it outside with you and tell your guests to help themselves!

Can’t find a spare bucket? Empty a box of beer and line it with a bin bag – this works just as well.

Cheers!

5. Keep your guests entertained

Make the most of the good weather and create a fun atmosphere for both you and your guests.

Pick up a set of portable speakers and set them up out the back – you can use your phone, tablet or laptop to control it, all the devices need are Bluetooth!

Turn up the volume, kick back and enjoy your summer (mind the neighbours though, they might not have the same taste in music).
