Make The Most Of Your Garden

Summer is just around the corner and hopefully bringing some sunshine with it!

Nature and fresh air can do wonders for your wellbeing especially after the year we have had so why not make the most of your garden and invite friends and family over.

If your garden is in need of some TLC or if you are wondering how to maximise a small balcony we have plenty of tips and tricks to share.

 1. Choose your furniture

The best way to start is by deciding what you are looking for in your space. Are you looking to create an area for entertaining, for relaxing or even both?

If you have a small garden or balcony, you should stick with the essentials like somewhere comfortable to sit and relax and clever pieces that can be adapted to suit, why not choose a furniture set with footstools or a table which can be stored underneath the chairs which can then be taken out as and when required.

2. Add some warmth

Even in summer the nights can still get a little chilly! Why not extend your time outdoors and add some heating?

Treat your garden as an extension of your home and add some throws to help keep the chill out and add a splash of luxury to your seating.

There is also a wide range of outdoor heating available, from fire pits to chimineas or even a patio heater and I guarantee you will find one to suit your style and budget.

3. Make wildlife welcome

There are plenty of flowers and plants that love to climb and can make a small gloomy back corner or balcony come to life.

You can also opt for wall hanging pots and plants which will not take up any floor space but still offer some decoration and colour. Choosing bright coloured flowers will also attract bumblebees which can be beneficial to the species and your plants.

4. Let there be light

Why not add some extra outdoor lighting to your garden with the help of some tea lights or pillar candles, citronella is recommended for outdoors to keep those flies at bay and fairy lights are ideal for adding a little magic and creating a feature of a fence or a wall or why not wind them around trees or through trellises.

Lanterns and outdoor topiary trees are also an excellent feature adding decoration and character as well as some lighting.
